The Department of Psychiatry and Psychology at the Cleveland Clinic is currently recruiting various Board Certified / Eligible Geriatric Psychiatrists. This recruitment is consistent with the increasing growth of the Neurological Institute, which will inaugurate a new, state of the art, 1 million square ft. Neurological Institute Building in late 2026.
This opportunity to work with cutting edge neurological subspecialties, including Center for Brain Health (Alzheimer’s Disease, dementia, and related disorders) and Center for Neurological Restoration (Parkinson’s Disease and related disorders), in a multidisciplinary fashion, epitomizes the team approach of care that the Cleveland Clinic is renowned for.
The Department of Psychiatry and Psychology consists of 43 psychiatrists, 20 psychologists, 39 APPs, and 18 LISWs, which collectively see 88,000 outpatients per year at various locations in the Cleveland Clinic Health System. In addition, we have 200 inpatient psychiatric beds, a growing psychiatric treatment resistant program, advanced therapeutics such as ECT, TMS, and ketamine, and various mood disorder and chemical dependency (IOP) intensive outpatient programs.
The Department has a strong teaching and academic mission, with an Adult Psychiatry Residency Program, a Consultation Liaison Psychiatry Fellowship, and a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship. In addition, the Department is a training site for the Cleveland City-Wide Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship, as well as a core psychiatry clerkship site for both the CCLCM and CWRU medical students. Finally, the Cleveland Clinic has a Behavioral Neurology and Neuropsychiatry Fellowship that further allows clinical, academic, and research collaboration,
Academic and research opportunities exist within the department’s advanced therapeutics and psychedelic trials as well as clinical trials in the various neurological centers of excellence. Abundant teaching opportunities exist that can enhance the new recruit’s experience, while working in a collaborative and collegial environment. Weekend obligatory call is 1 in 8 weekends in the Cleveland Clinic Health System.
