Goals
- The AAGP embraces diversity, equity, and inclusion as values critical to our mission of advancing mental health and wellbeing for all aging adults and the success of the AAGP, its members, the specialty of geriatric psychiatry, stakeholders, and partners.
- The AAGP provides a safe, welcoming environment and cultivates a respectfully inclusive culture that supports the professional success of every member, with particular attention to those historically underrepresented in the organization and the field while collaborating across multiple medical and non-medical sectors to end inequities in mental health care.
- The AAGP will develop and disseminate knowledge to improve the mental health care and wellbeing of aging adults bringing awareness to and supporting the needs of evolving, diverse, underrepresented, and underserved patient populations.
- The AAGP will serve as the passionate voice and resource for policies and advocacy that advance the mental health care and wellbeing of aging adults and those who serve them.
The AAGP is committed to providing a workplace that is inclusive, respectful, and free from discrimination. We expect all contractors to read and acknowledge this policy and join us in this effort to create a positive, safe, and productive working environment for all individuals.
