Job Description
Join Allina Health as an Inpatient Geriatric Psychiatrist and become part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering exceptional mental health care for older adults. This role is based on a 15-bed inpatient geriatric psychiatry unit, where you’ll work alongside advanced practice providers, nurses, psychologists, therapists, social workers, and operational support staff to provide compassionate, evidence-based treatment.

Principle Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on an inpatient geriatric psychiatry unit to a diverse population
- Develops behaviorally-focused, outcomes-based treatment plans that address mental health, functional impairment, and co-occurring addictive or medical disorders
- Consults with providers to assist with ongoing management of the behavioral health needs of their patients.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or foreign equivalent from an approved school of medicine
- Completion of an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) accredited Residency training program in Psychiatry or foreign equivalency training
- BE/BC with completion of an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) accredited Residency training program in Psychiatry or foreign equivalency training
- Completion of geriatric psychiatry fellowship preferred
- Active, non-restricted medical license in MN (or ability to obtain)
- Ability to obtain and/or maintain MN DEA certification and National Provider Identifier (NPI)
- Ability to meet criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and hospital privileges, if applicable
- BLS/ACLS required within 180 days of hire
Physical Demands
- Lifting weight up to 32 lbs. occasionally (*Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), up to 25 lbs. frequently
Pay Range: $328,400 to $339,000 per year
The pay described reflects the starting base pay range, assuming a full-time FTE. Your starting rate will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable).
