AAGP and AJGP are thrilled to announce the launch of The American Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry: Open Science, Education, and Practice (AJGP: OSEP); a new open-access journal in 2024. AJGP: OSEP will be released quarterly with the first issue scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2024. We look forward to expanding on published research in the field of geriatric psychiatry!
AJGP: OSEP Aims and Scope
The American Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry: Open Science, Education, and Practice (AJGP: OSEP)is an authoritative source of information for the rapidly expanding and multi-faceted field of geriatric mental health. It is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal that publishes research on clinical care, education, and investigation in different fields of geriatric mental health research, education, and practice. Geriatric MH research, education, and practice are all truly interdisciplinary at their best, and increasingly trans-disciplinary.
Both The American Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry(AJGP) and AJGP: OSEP are the official journals of the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry (AAGP), and both are published by Elsevier.
AJGP: OSEP Mission Statement
The mission of AJGP: OSEP is to improve health, health care, and health equity world-wide through open-access dissemination of high-quality, innovative, geriatric behavioral health science, education, practice, and commentary. Authors include a broad range of clinicians, educators, and researchers. In addition, AJGP: OSEP will publish research, educational initiatives and novel clinical practice models—all by a broad range of authors, whether they be academicians, patients, poets, payors, policy makers, social scientists, or scholars of philosophy relevant to aging. A balance of good science and of humanism will be at the core of the AJGP: OSEP mission.
