Psychiatry Faculty, Division of Geriatric Psychiatry - MaineHealth
Maine Medical Center (MMC) is seeking a BC/BE Adult and Geriatric Psychiatrist to join the Department of Psychiatry. Successful candidates will be gifted clinician-educators committed to improving the lives of older adults and excited to work with a team of like-minded colleagues.
The Geriatric Outpatient Psychiatry Division offers evaluation and treatment of older adults with a wide range of psychiatric illness. We work closely with geriatric medicine and neurology in caring for patients with complex illness. Our clinical staff includes geriatric psychiatrists, geriatric psychiatry nurse practitioners, psychologists and clinical social workers. The Geriatric Psychiatry Division partners with Maine Medical Center’s geriatric and neuropsychiatric medical-psychiatric inpatient program, one of few in the country. Our care continuum also includes Spring Harbor Hospital and Maine Behavioral Healthcare, a region-wide comprehensive mental health provider. Maine Medical Center has 700 beds and is the state's leading tertiary care hospital and only Level 1 Trauma Center. The Emergency Department at Maine Medical Center has 63 beds, including a 6-bed Acute Psychiatry Unit.
In addition to clinical care, we provide a major teaching resource for Maine Medical Center. We train and mentor Geriatric Medicine and Addiction Medicine fellows, Psychiatry residents, Tufts University School of Medicine medical students, Social Work and Psychology interns, and trainees in other fields. We have a culture of continuous quality improvement and our performance in the areas of safety, quality, and satisfaction are consistently excellent.
