The Editor, the editorial board of the American Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry (AJGP), the managing editorial team at Stellarmed, and the publisher at Elsevier are pleased to announce the appointment of 13 new associate members of the AJGP editorial board. The names of the 13 new associates, together with their home institutions, are listed below. Each was nominated by a current member of the AJGP editorial board. Appointments are for a two year period and are intended to provide hands-on experience with peer review and other operational aspects of the Journal, including not only review, but also editorial decision making, preparation of commentaries, primary research reports, special thematic issues, and the changing landscape of biomedical publishing.
Each associate is mentored by at least one member of the AJGP editorial board. The editor in chief hosts a monthly zoom meeting with the thirteen associate members to further shape their experience, and to acquaint them with the mission and operational aspects of the Journal. In addition, associates will develop familiarity with various performance metrics of the AJGP, including those reflecting its broader digital footprint and the use of social media to further disseminate research and clinical findings. This new wave of associate members brings great breadth of scientific and clinical interests in geriatric mental health to the board, ranging from basic and translational neuroscience, to intervention and implementation science, and to biostatistics.
